When people use common sense

There are so many times in this world where some of the laws, rules, and regulations that people are to abide by just don’t make sense. People wonder why their government imposes such limits to what they are allowed to do when the end result is the government cutting off their nose to spite their face. When an industry is not allowed in a country the result is people sending their money to other countries instead.

Often some of these laws protect the people very well but then there are times when nothing about them makes any logical sense at all. Online gambling has been one of those issues for years in the United States and several other countries. It would seem that the government of the land of the free was not acting as if the country actually is the land of the free. This really goes without saying for a lot of folks because they feel that way about many of the things that are imposed upon them.

Now that this is all changing there is going to be a lot of people who will tell the truth and people will wonder why this was a law in the first place. There are so many online casinos and people wager at them daily. In fact, some consider it their job to play poker online, so why not make it legal so that the states can benefit from the enormous amount of tax revenue that will likely add up very quickly.

This is all changing and even though it may take some time to get it all up and running there is a sense of excitement and hope coming from this industry. The bottom line is that there are some people who get it and some who never will. It would be surprising to many people if they knew just how much money is leaving the country on a daily basis through online gambling even though Internet casinos were not allowed to operate in the United States.

The states are not waiting around on the federal government to make decisions though. Some are forging ahead because they get it. They know how much money is leaving and they want to grab some of it for their people. Some are working with foreign operations and other are going to go it alone. Will this venture be the ticket out of the recession? That is highly unlikely, but the millions of dollars in tax funds that it will bring in will certainly help to steer things in the right direction.
